Its Mardi Gras Time In Wake Forest

Its Mardi Gras Time In Wake Forest

If the warm weather hasn’t motivated you to get outside and enjoy the Greater Raleigh area, then this sure will. On Saturday, March 1, grab a costume and head over to downtown Wake Forest for their Mardi Gras Street festival & Renaissance Ball. The fun begins at 11am and will offer live music, face painting, bounces houses, special street performances and a walking parade for both children and adults. They’ll have a costume contest for the kids where they will crown a King & Queen (and Prince and Princess for the younger children) and even a bubble gum blowing contest! Many of the downtown merchants will be offering special discounts for the day so keep a lookout while there.
The street festival will end at 4pm for the kids but doors will open at 7pm for the Renaissance Ball at the Renaissance Center for the adults. Tickets are on sale now for $60 per person and include dinner, two raffle tickets and one drink ticket. The dress is black-tie optional and there will live entertainment, dancing and a cash bar. The event is sponsored by the Town of Wake Forest and to make it really easy for you, you can download a free app that provide all kinds of information about the event (not to mention any other event that Wake Forest offers).  Even if you live in Fuquay- Varina, Cary or Raleigh, it’s worth the short drive up to Wake Forest to see all that it has to offer!
