With Spring in the air and April finally here, a lot of people are beginning to ask, where's the nearest Farmers Market? From Midtown to Wake Forest and even to Fuquay Varuina, you're sure to find one nearby.
April is typically the time that most Farmers Market's begin opening up. One of my favorites is the North Raleigh Farmers Market located at 8450 Honeycutt Road in Lafayette Village. They're opened on Wednesdays from 3-6pm and Saturday's from 8-12pm and feature tons of local fruits, vegetables, eggs and baked goods as well as discounted items from the Lafayette Village vendors.
If you live in the Midtown Raleigh area head over the Farmers Market at 4150 Main at North Hills beginning April 13 and every Saturday from 8-12pm. They have over 35 vendors and feature local breads, desserts, fruits, veggies, flowers, nuts, dairy and meats. They also feature a variety of fun kids activities all throughout the summer.
Head North to Wake Forest and enjoy local farmers fares, soapmakers, cheesemakers, crafters, bakers and artists. They will be opening this Saturday and every Saturday from 8-12pm and are located at 150 N. White Street in historic downtown Wake Forest.
The Growers Market in Fuquay Varina opened last year and had great success. They will be kicking off their season this year on May 4, from 9am-2pm and will feature complimentary BBQ, music and activities. Check them out at Centennial Square at the corner of N. Main Street and E. Academy Street.
With so many options, it's worth a drive around the Greater Raleigh area and don't forget, think local!

When it comes to providing the utmost in personal service to his clients, Peter Kima is on the cutting edge. This family man's demanding work ethic was passed on from his parents. His mother, a first generation German-American, forged a new life in a strange country. His father, who has not missed a day of work since 1972, led by example. Peter does not rest until he's done everything in his power to help you achieve your goals. As a husband and a father, his understanding of the importance of a family's home is reflected in his every move.
When Peter is not helping one of his clients, he can be found volunteering his time running a charity Lobster Bingo event, cooking burgers at the local Fire Station to benefit the children in the community, delivering dictionaries to every 3rd grade student in Wake County with his Kiwanis Club, collecting school supplies for the needy, or ringing the bell for the Salvation Army. His favorite pastime, however, is spending time with his wife, Jennifer, and their two sons, Cole (12) and Camden (9 going on 20!).
Peter has resided in Germany, California, Georgia, Indiana, Massachusetts, North Carolina, Oregon and Vermont. Having lived in North Carolina for over 10 years, Peter refers to North Carolina as home. Don't underestimate the value of Peter's moving experience. He and his team understand the rigors involved in making a family move. Rely on that experience to help you.
