Christmas Lights For All To Enjoy
Christmas comes and goes every year. This year, however, looks different than the ones before. One thing is for sure, no one can steal my Christmas spirit. There is something about this time of year that feels comforting, joyful, and full of possibilities. We need each other more than ever in 2020. One act of kindness can go a long way. Helping others is my favorite thing to do at Christmas time. We usually sponsor a family for gifts and donate to food drives & individuals. I love the feeling of giving. This is what Jesus’ birthday is all about.
We have two young children so we love to decorate the inside and outside of our house. I remember when I was a kid, I would drive around town with my siblings, parents, and grandma looking at all the light displays. We would judge who had the best lights and just oooh and ahhh through the car windows. I grew up in Iowa so we stayed in the car since it was very cold :) These are very fond memories that I will always hold dear to my heart. With 2020 throwing us a huge curveball, communities are still persevering to show their Christmas spirit and making the season bright. We may not be able to do a lot of face-to-face activities but we do have some really cool light shows/displays in the area that you should definitely check out. Put your kids in their pajamas and get some hot chocolate. No matter what age you are, this time of year is magical. Spend the evening driving around soaking in all the color, sparkles, and joy!

There is something for everyone this Christmas. Make some lifelong memories. Activities don’t have to be over the top and grand. Simply being with the ones you love is all you need. Bake some cookies, build a gingerbread house, watch Christmas movies, dance/sing to Christmas music, and go drive around looking at lights…..those are the times you will ALWAYS remember. Merry Christmas!
