The 2021 Triangle Parade of Homes

It all began in Edina, Minnesota in 1948, where a few builders came together to work and collaborated on an “Idea House” and was a defining moment for the event now known as the Parade of Homes. We are now in 2021 and living in a great and thriving area of North Carolina known as “The Triangle” and here comes the Parade Of Homes. The Parade of Homes is an annual, free tour that is open to the public and is the best way to view the newest homes and the newest communities throughout the Triangle

Looking to fill your calendar for October prior to Halloween Festivities?  If you are in and around the Triangle be sure to mark your calendars for the following dates and times:

October 2nd -3rd
8th -10th
15th-17th
From 12-5PM every day!

If you are considering  purchasing a new home or if you just love learning new concepts and design trends, then the Triangle Parade of Homes is where you will you want to be to view the newest homes for sale, discover your next floor plan and home design, or just find inspiration in the latest home decor and technology. 

This year’s tour will feature 126 homes, 73 communities and 64 builders. Be sure you check out The Official Parade Of Homes Website to see a map of these homes’ locations. I really like this site as it gives you the ability to filter your search and find exactly what you are looking for. There is no city left off this list, from Pittsboro, Chapel Hill, Hillsborough, Apex, Fuquay Varina, Holly Springs, Angier, Garner, Wendell, Raleigh, Wake Forest, Zebulon, Durham, Youngsville, and even more. Make sure to check if showings are available, as some of these homes are not yet finished and thus not ready for showings.

COVID-19 and supply chain issues have sure put an interesting twist on not only the housing market, but has also thrown a wrench in the works for builders, who are already contending with major labor challenges. Regardless, it is very exciting to see what will be on display for this year’s Parade of Homes. This year, expect to find a wide array of designs and new functional details built into each home. Per several articles, you will continue to see modern designs and open floor plans with the family in mind. This will be reflected in everything from estate homes to townhomes. 

The past year and half have been a catalyst for thinking how the home can be purposed and repurposed. Being able to efficiently transition from work to play will be evident in these homes, allowing for a family to be fully functional and want for nothing in their new home. 

Do not think there will not be high end luxury on the Parade: there are at least four homes available for showings which are priced at over $2.5Million. If this is outside your budget, don’t be disheartened; there are also homes at or under the $350K price point on the Parade as well.

In regards to COVID protocols, be sure to check the status of homes on the Parade website before visiting. While Parade homes are typically open during the advertised dates and hours, sometimes there are circumstances that prevent a home from being open to the public.  To access up-to-the-minute information on the status of an individual home, please see each individual home listing.
