The Holiday Season in the Triangle

The leaves have turned and are falling all over North Carolina.  Triangle homeowners are busy blowing and raking their lawns trying to keep up with the continuous traffic.  It's that time of year where the holidays will be upon us before we know it.  Now is a great time to think about not only spending much needed time with family and friends but also a chance to plan out all the activities that you want to participate in.

NC Chinese Lantern Festival will be back at Booth Amphitheater in Cary for its 8th consecutive year from November 18th thru January 8th.  This very popular attraction will be debuting more than 40 new displays of artistry.  Created by stretching a silk fabric over a metal frame, these lanterns are exclusively designed for this event and is truly an event you need to experience at least once.  Last year, there were more than 200,000 visitors for the festival.  Be sure to check out the Booth Amphitheater website for more information about times, tickets and rules for visiting.

Magic of Lights at Coastal Federal Credit Union Music Park is an amazing drive thru display of lights at the park featuring holiday characters and all time favorite holiday scenes all aglow with the latest LED technology and animation.  A great experience for the entire family, enjoy the evening from the comfort of your own vehicle.  The Magic of Lights occurs every night from Nov. 18th - Dec 30th rain or shine.

Nights of Lights at Dix Park is returning to the downtown Raleigh area again this year.  Last year saw more than 125,000 attendees at Dix park and organizers are hoping for that many if not more in 2022.  The event will have an added separate entrance this year for “Fast Lane” ticket holders in order to help reduce wait times and to minimize traffic back ups.  Opening up on Saturday, November 19th and concluding on Saturday, December 24th, Nights of Lights will include several themed nights as well as an evening 5k run and two bicycle only nights.  With the prestige of being downtown Raleigh’s only drive thru light show, the 1.3 mile route includes larger than life displays, a 250 foot animated tunnel and outstanding night time views of Raleigh.

Finally, if you are a traditional kind of person and the holidays mean parades then you are also in luck.  The Triangle area has many Holiday Parades occurring over the next several weeks for your enjoyment…….

-Saturday Nov. 19th - Raleigh Christmas Parade

-Saturday Dec. 3rd - Angier, Garner and Chapel Hill

-Sunday Dec. 4th - Fuquay Varina and Rolesville

-Saturday Dec. 10th - Holly Springs and Cary

Saturday Dec. 17th - Durham Christmas Parade
