Wake County $$Million+$$ Homes in 2020

There is something about the dollar figure of one million dollars that brings with it a certain amount of prestige. I remember watching the Austin Powers movie for the first time and Dr. Evil demanding “one Million dollars” with his pinky at his lips. If you have a net worth of $1,000,000 or more, you get the distinguished title of “Millionaire”. When you think of millionaires and their homes, you may not necessarily think about the Raleigh/Triangle market as one with a lot of home sales over $1M but you may be surprised.

Homes in the $1M+ range in Wake County have grown consistently over the years. In 2018, our area saw 217 homes sale for over $1M. In 2019, that number grew by about 30% to 279 homes with the most expensive being at a price of $4.53M. Now that 2020 is drawing to a close, we saw another significant increase in the $1M+ home sales to a total of 338 homes….an increase of around 20% and a total sales volume of $465,000,000 in real estate.

These prices are not cheap but they don’t compete with some of the square footage prices you see on TV in California or NY. I watch the Million Dollar Listing shows and they talk about prices that are $1500-$3000/sqft. I can’t even imagine.
