Wake Forest - What is Happening?

A summary of several of the projects that we can expect to see in Wake Forest:

Radford Glen - This is the controversial George Mackie property that has made so much news this past year.  Located out past Heritage you may recall this was the former mobile home park, Wellington.  I believe the final name of the new subdivision there will be called The Hamlet.  If you go out on the bypass past the Gateway Commons Shopping Center and keep going it will be on your left.

Forest on Franklin - We have another small townhome development coming.  An effort to keep prices down can often be the use of townhomes.  This is a site just over 2 acres and will be home to 12 families.  More opportunity for people to live within walking distance of town.

Rosedale - We represented a land seller...longtime owners and farmers of a large tract of land off of Averette Road.  This tract was one of several that a developer was able to purchase.  The tracts will be combined to create Rosedale Subdivision.  As we understand it, the developer intends to build approximately 900 homes over a 10 year period.  A mix of townhomes and single family residential.  If you have been out this general direction as of late you will likely have spent time in Tryon...a subdivision currently being built out.  Rosedale will be an extension of Tryon,

Royal Mill Apartments - Hey Franklin Academy High School parents...there at the corner of Royal Mill Ave and Flaherty you can expect approximately 96 apartments.  Likely to be the 3 story walk up buildings.  This will add apartments directly across the street from the existing apartments there.

Meridian @ Rogers Branch - These are the apartments that are going in behind Stewarts Bistro and Harris Teeter in Heritage Wake Forest.  A project that will have lots of 1 and 2 bedroom units I believe.  A total of approximately 260 units when complete.  This project is currently under construction.

St. Catherine's of Siena Catholic Church - Looks like a permit to build a parsonage has been submitted.  A church that is continuing to attract people from all over and experiencing growth.  PRO TIP:  On the way to St. Catherine's is a hidden gem of a park.  Tyler Run Park.  Trust me on this one if you are new to the area.

Devon Square - Okay....so if you have travelled up Capital Blvd north of Stadium Drive you have seen this project start taking shape.  Or, if you have been to Joyner Park lately....you definitely cannot miss this project.  Yes, it backs to Joyner Park.  The townhomes here will number in the 150 range and there will be 40 single family homes there as well.  The town is requiring a heavy buffer of trees between the homes and the park.  Word is that the buffer will be a minimum of 50'.  What else you may ask?  I am hearing that there will be some commercial aspect to the project as well.  Totaling 68 acres this is one we have all been watching.

Kinsley - This is another controversial one.  The developer of this project has shared that we can expect a total of 724 homes...broken down as follows: 450 townhome lots and the balance in single family residential.  The goal of this developer is to offer these townhomes at an affordable price.  Where?  You ask where these will be?  If you head north from the Wake Forest Baptist Theological Seminary on North Main Street, before you get to Youngsville, on both sides of North Main Street.  At one time there was talk of a northern loop expressway ... that would be interesting to see if it ever materializes.

Thales Academy High School - We mentioned Rosedale above.  Very near this project at the corner of 98 and Averette Road, Bob Luddy of Franklin Academy & Thales fame....has purchased land to eventually build a a 37,000+ square foot Thales High School!

Legacy Heritage - Yep...you've seen this one too.  This is a large apartment complex of over 300+ units being built at the corner of the 98 Bypass and Heritage Lake Dr.  You know, the one across from Gateway Commons.  The retaining walls there are some of the most impressive we've ever seen!
